LAKEVIEW PERKS TERMS AND CONDITIONS – In effect as at June 31, 2019


  1. Overview
    1. The Lakeview Perks Program (the "Perks Program") is a customer loyalty program that rewards travelers who stay at participating hotels. The Perks Program is operated by Lakeview Management Inc. for all Lakeview branded properties.
    2. Enrollment, membership, and all related benefits of the Perks program, including the use of the www.lakeviewperks.com website, is offered at our discretion and subject to these terms and conditions and our privacy policy.
    3. By participating in the Perks program, you agree that you have read and understand these terms and conditions and are bound by all of them, that they may be changed from time to time, and you consent to our collection and use of your personal information in accordance with our privacy policy.
    4. To enroll in the program as a Leisure member, you must have a permanent address and be an individual who is at least 18 years of age or of the age of majority in the place where you live, whichever is older.
    5. To enroll in the program as a Corporate member, you must be at least 18 years of age or of the age of majority in the place where you live, whichever is older and an authorized representative to act as an account holder for that group, organization, or company.
    6. To register as a Perks member, you must possess an email address.
    7. You may enroll in the program as a “Leisure” member or as a “Corporate” member.
      1. As a Leisure member, you may collect points only on rooms you both paid for and personally stayed in. This account is for personal use only.
      2. As a Corporate member, you may collect points for multiple rooms purchased by or on behalf of a group, organization, or company regardless of whether or not you have stayed in a room and as long as you are both an authorized representative and account holder for that group, organization, or company.
      3. Available rewards and redemption points costs may differ between corporate and leisure members.
    8. We reserve the right to limit Perks program enrollment at any time. We may discontinue your membership and void your account balance if any points were issued, received, or redeemed through fraud, theft, otherwise illegally, or not as authorized in these Terms and Conditions. These rights are in addition to any other legal or equitable remedy, which may be available to us under applicable law.
    9. You may deactivate your account at any time by contacting us. All unredeemed Lakeview Perks Points shall be forfeit upon account deactivation.
    10. When you enroll in the Perks program you are eligible to collect points by purchasing stays at participating hotel properties according to your membership as either a leisure or corporate member, and to redeem points on your account for specified and approved rewards.
  2. Member Obligations
    1. Many of the offers from the Perks Program are specifically targeted to individual members. Unless otherwise allowed in an offer, you agree not to forward promotions or offers to anyone else without first obtaining our written permission.
    2. You agree to promptly notify us of any change in personal or corporate information as it applies by updating your account at www.lakeviewperks.com.
    3. You agree to promptly notify us if your Lakeview Perks card is lost or stolen. Name changes must be made in writing and include supporting legal documentation, signature, date, and member account number. Send name change requests to: Lakeview Perks, 600-185 Carlton St. Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J1
  3. Collecting Lakeview Perks Points
    1. You must identify yourself as a Lakeview Perks member upon check-in to earn Perks points.
    2. We will attempt to credit your account within 12 hours of checkout. However, you have the responsibility to confirm that your Perks points have been properly credited. Any claim for Perks points not credited must be received within three (3) months of claimed accrual. We reserve the right to require proof of Perks points entitlement.
    3. Collection of Perks points starts on the date of registration. Points shall not be awarded retroactively for previous stays.
    4. If you are a Perks Leisure member, you can earn Perks Points for all rooms you both pay for and stay in. If you and another Perks Leisure member are staying in the same room, Perks Points will be split between members only if payment for the room is also split.
    5. If you are a Perks Corporate member, you may collect points on all rooms purchased by or on behalf of your group, organization, or company regardless of whether or not you have stayed in a room, as long as you are both an authorized representative and account holder for that group, organization, or company.
    6. Except where required by law or provided for in these terms and conditions, Perks points have no cash value.
    7. Perks points shall not be awarded on any stay booked through a third party booking firm including but not limited to: Expedia, Priceline, Hotwire, Orbitz, Travelocity, Booking.com, Hotels.com, Etc. To collect points, you must book with a participating hotel directly, via our toll-free line at 1.877.355.3500 or at www.lakeviewhotels.com.
  4. Redeeming Lakeview Perks Points
    1. Perks points may be redeemed only for rewards offered through the Perks Program via our website at LakeviewPerks.com.
    2. When you purchase an item with Perks points, the corresponding number of points will be deducted from your account.
    3. Shipping costs for merchandise sent to addresses outside Canada and the United States will be the responsibility of the member.
    4. Merchandise items returned will be charged a 25% restocking fee payable by the Perks member.
    5. The usability of gift cards and other merchandise offered from third parties via the Perks program is subject to their terms and conditions and not that of the Perks program or any of its affiliates.
    6. A credit card may be required to reserve rooms and at the front desk for free night stays. Perks points may cover the cost of the room but not additional charges billed to a room.
    7. When you wish to redeem Perks points for a stay at a participating hotel property, you may choose one of the following redemption methods:
      1. By calling to reserve a room at a participating hotel property or by calling 1.877.355.3500. You must inform the reservation agent when making your reservation that you want to redeem Perks Points. Online reservations are not currently eligible to create Perks bookings.
      2. By redeeming your Perks Points for a Free Night Certificate at www.LakeviewPerks.com. This certificate will be mailed to you within 2 -4 weeks of your order. Once Perks Points have been redeemed for a Free Night Certificate, they may not be returned or refunded to your account for any reason, including if a Free Night Certificate is stolen or lost. Lakeview is not responsible for lost, late, mutilated, or misdirected mail. Free Night Certificates are transferable to allow for gift giving. To use a Free Night Certificate, you must book in advance by calling the hotel directly, or tollfree at 1.877.355.3500, and inform the reservation agent that you wish to use a Free Stay Certificate. This certificate must be presented at check in.
  5. Free Night Stay Conditions
    1. Free night stays must be booked in advance. Rooms may not be paid for using Perks points unless originally booked as a Perks room.
    2. Each participating hotel may provide only a portion of their rooms as available to reserve with Perks points. These rooms are subject to availability. Book your room early for the best chance of getting the property and date you desire.
    3. Free accommodation using Perks points are based on a maximum of two adults per room. A charge may apply for additional adults in the room and may vary by location.
    4. Free Night Stays on the Perks program may be permitted for a maximum of three consecutive nights. For consecutive stays longer than three nights, at least one night stay paid for by other acceptable means must occur in between Perks stays.
  6. Account / Transferability of Lakeview Perks Points
    1. Perks points can be transferred from one Leisure member account to another Leisure account if all of the following apply:
      1. The transfer is between program members in the same household (having the same principal residence).
      2. A written authorization to transfer Perks points is signed by both parties and sent to Lakeview Perks at 600-185 Carlton Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J1. Once the transfer request has been received and processed, the transferor relinquishes all rights to the transferred Perks Points.
    2. Perks points may not be transferred from one Corporate account to another or from one Corporate account to a Leisure account under any circumstances.
  7. Perks Points/Account Expiry
    1. Perks accounts without any activity within a three year period of time are considered to be abandoned and all Perks points forfeit. An account with activity is one which has had Perks points awarded through a night stay at a participating hotel, or one which has incurred a points redemption for an eligible award.
    2. Birthday bonus points awarded on a member’s birthday are not considered activity for the purpose of keeping an account active.
    3. To prevent account deactivation, be sure to collect Perks points on an eligible stay at any Lakeview-Branded property, or redeem your points for a free-night stay, free stay certificate, or merchandise offered at www.LakeviewPerks.com.
  8. Lakeview Perks Program Suspension, Change, or Termination
    1. We reserve the right to suspend, change, or terminate the Perks program in part or in whole; to add, delete, or change partners; to modify, limit, or suspend transferability procedures; to modify, limit or suspend the use or redemption of Perks points; to modify or change redemption procedures, including the number of Perks points required for particular rewards; to modify, limit, or suspend the collection of Perks points, including but not limited to imposing time limits and changes in point values.
    2. All merchandise and/or offers are available while supplies last and are subject to change and/or revocation without notice.
    3. We reserve the right to alter, limit, modify, terminate or add to the Program and these Terms and Conditions, including without limitation, our Privacy Policy. The level of notice we will provide, if any, when we change these terms and conditions will depend on the nature of the change.
    4. Minor Changes: If we make only minor changes to these Terms and Conditions, we'll replace these Terms and Conditions with the revised Terms and Conditions on our website. Your continued participation in the Perks Program or use of our website following a minor change will indicate your acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.
    5. Material Changes: We'll endeavor to notify you of any material changes to these Terms and Conditions by sending you an email notice at the email address on your account.
    6. As a Perks member, you are responsible for updating your profile at www.lakeviewperks.com. If the last email address you provided is not valid, or for any other reason not capable of delivering the notice to you, our emailing of the notice to your last email address will constitute notice of the changes.
    7. You agree that communication of material changes by email above will be sufficient notice of material changes and you agree to assume responsibility for reviewing the revised Terms and Conditions from time to time. Your continued participation in the Program or use of our website following such notice will indicate your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions. If you don't agree to the changes, you must notify us immediately that you wish to deactivate your account with us.
  9. New Lakeview Perks Program Opt-In
    1. Pre-existing Lakeview Perks members with accounts prior to May 31, 2019 have been notified on May 31, 2019 as per then current terms and conditions, that an opt-in form is required to be filled out at lakeviewhotels.com/Lakeview-Perks-optin to convert their accounts to a new leisure or corporate account. The opt-in is a one-time option to choose between a Perks leisure, or Perks Corporate account type, and may not be altered once committed to. Accounts not converted by June 30, 2019 shall be considered to be forfeit.
